The governments of the Arab Republic of Egypt and of South Sudan have signed a memorandum of cooperation for the establishment of four power stations in South Sudan
The governments of the Arab Republic of Egypt and of South Sudan have signed a memorandum of cooperation for the establishment of four power stations in South Sudan. The agreement was signed by the Vice President of the government of South Sudan, Dr. Riak Machar and his Egyptian counter part, the Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr. Hassan Yunis (on Friday). Dr Riak Machar said the Egyptian government will provide the financial support for the establishment of a power station in Wau. Furthermore Dr. Riak Machar said both countries have agreed that the government of Egypt will help in establishing and generating power in Rumbek, Yambio and Bor. South Sudan will contribute to the transmission and distribution of power in these three towns.
