The Abyei legislative assembly has endorsed the 2009 budget forwarded by the Abyei interim administration that amounts to 240 million Sudanese pounds.

Most of the money is allocated for the development in the area and to assist in the voluntary return of the IDP's to the areas.

Meanwhile, the Abyei administration has agreed to send a joint committee to the presidency to demand compensations for the victims of the latest violence which occurred in Abyei.
