The Speaker of the Lakes State Legislative Assembly, Isaiah Machinkok, has confirmed to Miraya FM that he relieved the impunities of eight members of the parliament.

Mr. Machinkok said the members violated the decrees of both the President of the Sudan and his First Vice President.

Machinkok who ordered for the arrest of the relieved members said that the parliamentarians also disrupted the swearing in of new members from the National Congress Party.

Last October the State Legislative Assembly was reopened after an immediate suspension by the Executive, following a vote of no confidence against Speaker Machinkok.

Mr. Machinkok told Miraya FM that he is excising his constitutional powers as a Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly.
