The secretary General of Northern Atlantic Treaty Organization, Jaap De Hoop Scheffer, said that piracy off the Horn of Africa and other regions is a challenge that the international community must end.
Scheffer added that NATO ships had already shipped aid to Somalia to organize patrols on Gulf of Eden.
The Arab countries, including Egypt, Yemen and Sudan, had earlier said that they intend to strengthen consultation and cooperation mechanism to face the phenomena of piracy in the Red Sea.
