The southern Sudan minister of information and broadcasting, Gabriel Changson, stated on Thursday that media in southern Sudan have achieved remarkable progress.

Speaking to representatives of the government owned and private media outlets in Juba the minister said that impartial and transparent reporting is effectively contributing to the democratic transformation, freedom and sustainable peace.

However the minister highlighted that there are sporadic examples of some media outlets inaccurately reporting. He announced that in near future the Press and publication act will be adopted to regulate media work and called on all media to continue work on their professional development.
