The director of the World Food Program Office in Sudan, Ken Reo, welcomed Al Bashir's announcement of ceasefire in Darfur.
Ken told Miraya fm that maintaining security in Darfur will help provision of humanitarian aid to the needy and the displaced people in the area.
Ken Reo further asked the government to increase the number of police patrols guarding aid convoys belonging to the WFP that are still under threats of looting and robbery.
Meanwhile, the Spokesman of Sudan Liberation Movement, SLM- Saif el Dein Saleh Haroon, affirmed to Miraya FM that the revolutionary council of the movement will conduct an urgent meeting on the 24th of next month.
This meeting intends to evaluate the implementation process of the Abuja Agreement and arrange for an inclusive conference for the people of Darfur.
Saleh added that the committee for the council's affairs decided to create a committee headed by the deputy president of the council and the deputy of the legislative body in Darfur.
This committee will aim at settling the current crises and problems and make arrangements for holding the inclusive conference, stating that this meeting will be crucial for solving many outstanding issues.
