The Acting Director General in the Central Equatoria State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Isidoro Asok has confirmed to Miraya FM that October salaries for teachers in Juba County have been approved. He also said that September salaries for teachers in other Central Equatoria State counties have been approved.

Mr. Asok, stated that a number of meetings was held following the students strike in Juba last week and that teachers have accepted to go back to work.

He said the pay slips for the Juba and other counties are being processed and "payment of their salaries will take place immediately."

In another development, civil Service Commission and the Arab Organization for Administrative Development agreed to train and qualify new staff from the South.

These new staff will be employed in the public service within the rate of 20%, set by the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
