Miraya FM's correspondent to Parliament, Mohamed Osman, sent us the following report:

The parliament members voted to approve the nominees for the National Electoral Commission and the Council of political parties. 298 out of 310 attended the session and voted for the list of nominees, while12 members rejected it.

The SPLM members voted in favor of the nominees alongside with the National Congress Party members.

Meanwhile, the National Democratic Alliance members have rejected the nominees. Before starting the voting process, Bloc member in the Parliament Farouq Abu Issa rejected tabling the election in this time saying that is not constitutional because its exact time is over, pointing out that the nominees are from the National Congress and SPLM excluding the rest of political parties.

The National Electoral Commission consists of nine members as well as the Political Parties' Council who were selected by the Presidency.
