UN announces commitment to deploying 60% of hybrid troops by the end of the year |

The United Nations announced commitment to deploy 60% of the hybrid troops in Darfur by the end of this year, while promising to raise it to 80% by the end of next March.
This came in the meeting of the Tripartite Mechanism composed of the Sudanese Government, the African Union and the United Nations, which was held yesterday in Khartoum.
Addressing the press after the meeting, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Field Support, Susana Malcorra said UNAMID will carry out its mission to protect civilians after completing the deployment of the forces.
The Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Matrif Siddik said the government is a hundred percent committed to the military component of the hybrid operation.
He added that it only remains to prepare the atmosphere for the military, Police and civil components of UNAMID in Darfur
