The Minister of Energy and Mining Al-Zubair Muhammad Al-Hassan has accused Unity and Southern Kordofan officials of interfering in the work of the oil exploration companies operating in the area.
In press statements, the Minister Al-Hassan said that the governors and the commissioners of the two states represent a threat to the operations of these companies.
He urged the South Kordofan and Unity states' authorities to respect the resolutions of the First Vice President Salva Kiir Mayardit to stop obstructing the oil operations in the area.
Miraya FM contacted the Governor of Unity State Taban Deng for a response but he refused to comment on the issue.
