GoSS Ministry of Legal Affairs introduces Land Bill for debate |

South Sudan Ministry of Legal Affairs has tabled the Land Bill before South Sudan Assembly for deliberation.
The bill recognizes women's right to own and inherit land among other issues.
Minister of Legal Affairs Michael Makuei told members of parliament that absence of the land law halted development and investment in the south.
He said that people of south Sudan have been waiting for the land law for a long time.
Speaker of the Assembly James Wani Igga ruled that the Land Bill should be presented for deliberations within seven days.
South Sudan Legislative Assembly also passed on Wednesday the Contracts Bill in the third reading.
Minister of Legal Affairs in south Sudan Government Michael Makuei told Miraya FM that Bill "will help govern transactions among people in south Sudan."
The South Sudan Assembly has passed over twenty bills in total since its establishment in 2005.
South Kordofan passes Child Bill
The Legislative Council of Southern Kordofan State has passed the Child Bill.
The bill was drafted in coordination with the Ministry of Social Welfare, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and other concerned organizations.
