Sudan People's Liberation Movement justified the reason behind not inviting the National Congress Party to participate in the South-South dialogue currently being held in Juba, by saying it is not a southern party.
SPLM Spokesman Yen Matthew told Miraya FM that the southern parties requested to hold talks with the movement in order to discuss a number of issues concerning south Sudan.
Earlier, the National Congress Party protested against not inviting it to the meeting which is being held between the SPLM and eight southern parties.
In the meantime, the South-South dialogue meetings resumes today in Juba to discuss a range of issues including south Sudan unity, fight against corruption in addition to security challenges in the south.
Meanwhile, the newly formed Abyei Interim Administration resumed its work officially in the region upon the arrival of the Chief Administrator Arop Mayak of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) and his deputy Rahama Abdel-Rahman Al-Nour of the National Congress Party (NCP).
The head of the Ceasefire Political Committee Al Dardiri Mohamed Ahmed said the step would lead to speedy delivery of basic services to the citizens of the region.
