The Chinese government condemned the murder by the armed group, calling it a terrorist act.

China urged  the government to take what it called feasible steps to ensure the safety of the Chinese citizens and their properties in Sudan.

The spokesman of Chinese foreign ministry Jean You expressed the sadness and condolences of its government to the families of the victims, assuring that the Chinese told the Sudanese foreign ministry to do its best to insure the safety of the other two hostages.

Spokesman of  Foreign ministry Ali al-Sadig confirmed that the five Chinese oil workers kidnapped earlier have been killed by the Justice and Equality Movement .

Al-Sadig explained in a press release that JEM wounded two and escaped with the other two, adding that JEM might be carrying out their previous threat of attacking Chinese oil companies in the production areas.

News reports said yesterday that the Army is surrounding the area where the kidnappers are kept by their abductors.

Meanwhile, The Justice and Equality movement has  denied accusations of abducting or killing the workers.

The officer for external affairs in the movement  Dr. Haroon Abdul-Hameed, assured that they do not use  kidnapping as one of the movements tools to achieve their  aims .
