Police in Malakal yesterday briefly impounded and later released a vehicle belonging to Upper Nile State Minister of Education upon the orders of a court in Rank, Upper Nile State.

According to reports, the order followed complains by over seventy-five teachers in Rank of being denied of their just salaries for about four years. Police also impounded two other vehicles belonging to the State Ministry of Education.

The impoundment orders remain in full force while investigation continuous. The teachers were supposed to have gone through the regular employment procedure in 2004. (FULL STOP)
