Tuesday, 14 October 2008

The government denied news reports claiming its acceptance to remove the State Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Ahmed Haroun, accused by the International Criminal Court of allegedly committing war crimes in Darfur, in response to the French conditions to mediate between the government and the ICC.

The government Spokesman and the State Minister of Information Kamal Obeid told Miraya FM that the Minister will carry out his duties normally.

Earlier, news reports said -according to French diplomats- that the Sudanese government agreed to sack State Minister Ahmed Haroun from his post in response to  French demands.
