The First Vice President of Sudan and the President of the Government of Southern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit has resolved the political turmoil in Rumbek.
Last month members of the Lakes State Legislative Assembly signed a petition of vote of no confidence against the Speaker of the Parliament.
Speaking to the press at the Rumbek airport before departing for Juba, President Kiir said that the differences between the wrangling politicians in the State have been resolved and reconciliation is reached.
Meanwhile the Lakes State Governor, Daniel Awet Akot, said that Isiah Machnikok remains as the Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly and that the Parliament will resume its normal sessions next week.
Governor Akot said that political divisions will cause insecurity in the State and called on the citizens of the Lakes State to unite.
