UN Security Council passes resolution to combat piracy off Somali Coasts |

The United Nations Security Council has unanimously passed a resolution allowing states to use naval and air forces to fight piracy off the Somali Coasts on Tuesday.
UN resolution number 1838 gives the countries a six month mandate to use the necessary means against the pirates in accordance with the international law.
Last June, the Security Council passed a resolution allowing countries to send Naval Forces to the Somali Regional water to combat pirates.
