Floods in Aweil causes destruction |

Many houses, farms and foodstuff have been destroyed by floods in Aweil town capital of North Bahar Al Ghazal state.
The acting state governor Arkanjeillo Deng told Miraya FM that three rivers suddenly burst their banks yesterday causing the floods and led to the destruction of properties adding that rescue and aid teams reached the affected areas.
The acting governor of North Bahar Al Ghazal state called for humanitarian and medical aid to the affected people.
On the other hand, The President of the government of southern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit directed the minister of finance and economic planning to allocate the 2009 oil revenue to provide services.
Speaking during the closure of the four-day Governor's Forum in Juba, the President said the year 2009 is the year for decentralization in southern Sudan.
