Authority of the Local Council of Meluit County in Northern Upper Nile State has announced the passage of the County's 2008-2009 budget.

Speaking to Miraya FM from Meluit County, the Chairman of the Council Mr. Mario Teng Aywel said that there has been an increase in the passed budget in order to meet some of the growing demands for basic services in the County.

Mr. Aweil detailed some of the challenges facing the County such as construction of new schools, improvement of health services as well as recruitment of additional teachers.
