GoSS calls for helping the elderly |

The Government of South Sudan has been called upon to continue supporting elderly people's community based care organizations and families.
Speaking during the occasion to celebrate the International Day of older Persons in Juba, the Minister for Gender, Social Welfare and Religious Affairs, Mary Kiden, reaffirmed government's support to the elderly and the organizations that participate in their protection and care in southern Sudan.
The Executive Director of the Southern Sudan Older People's Organization, Mr. Donato Ochan, said the elderly have raised concerns which need to be represented in the Southern Legislative and State Assemblies.
He added that older persons wish to be included in the government's HIV/AIDS policy.
