The commander of the UN mission in Sudan Major General Baban Goung Taba gave yesterday medals to ninety three soldiers of the Bangladeshi navy contingent working in Malakal.

General Taba hailed the distinctive services of the contingent which he said is based on the UNMIS mandate.  

The Bangladeshi navy contributed in the peace process in 2005. Awarding medals is a routine among the UN peacekeepers after completing their assignment.
