The Ministry of health in the government of Sothern Sudan organized three day polio campaign in Juba to immunize children under five years.
The campaign is supported by the World health organization and the United Nations Children's Fund.
According to director general in the Ministry of health Dr. Anthony Lako, the polio vaccination campaign is being conducted after a confirmed polio case at Kator Payam in Juba three months ago.
He warned citizens that polio can be transmitted through contaminated water, especially during the rainy season.
The polio vaccination campaign will be focused in this phase on Juba and Central Equatoria state and Torit in Western Equatoria State.
