The Director General of Energy in Southern Sudan Ministry of Industry and Mining has called upon oil exploration companies to support local development initiatives.
Speaking to Miraya FM during an interview, Mr Arkangelo Okwang, said the policy will ensure that local people will benefit from oil operations.
He noted that communities displaced by oil explorations are usually not compensated, resulting in actions that stop operations.
A conference aimed to address issues related to stoppage of oil operations by natives was recently held in Unity State.
