The Minister of Parliamentary Affairs in south Sudan Elias Lomoro said that all Non-Governmental Organizations involved in civic education in south Sudan should do their activities only with the permission of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
Addressing a meeting in Juba on Tuesday with representatives of almost all NGO's Mr. Lomoro said that such a measure is to ensure that "the NGO's pass correct messages about elections across south Sudan."
He said that violation of this instruction "will be regarded as criminal act."
The Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Julia Duany said that the ministry has approved policies that will guide the NGO's in carrying out civic education ahead of elections.
According to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, the elections are expected to be held in the Sudan in July next year at all levels.
