The Chairman of the Commission for the Rights of Non-Muslims in the national capital has denied the latest US report which listed Sudan as one of the countries violating religious freedoms in the world.
The Chairman of the Commission, Joshua Dau stated to Miraya FM that religious freedoms in Sudan have improved after the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, pointing out that Muslims and Christians in South and North Sudan are enjoying equal rights.
The recent US report indicates that Sudan, Iran, Egypt, Algeria and Iraq come on the top list of the countries violating religious freedoms.
Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of the Upper Nile State Duk Doub Duk has assured the absence of religious persecution against Muslims in the State.
He said during a collective Ramadan breakfast in Malakal that these allegations are made by some politicians to incite subversion among religions.
