The Catholic Church in Malakal has hailed  the United Nations Mission in Sudan for its assistance in building the capacity of local youths in the area of journalism.

Speaking to Miraya FM in Malakal, the coordinator of the Catholic radio project, Sister Elena Balatti welcomed UNMIS Radio Miraya office in Sector-III for providing training for journalists of the Catholic radio in Malakal.

For their part, the participants of the training said, they see the training as an opportunity which goes beyond capacity building.

Owned and operated by the Catholic Church, the radio will broadcast news and programs of peace and reconciliation.
