Medical statistic has shown that Southern Sudan has one of the highest numbers of women who die as a result of pregnancy related complications.

Dr. Solomon Orero, a gynecologist, said that due to the seriousness of this problem, the GoSS has earmarked several activities so as to minimize the high number of deaths that may occur as a result of pregnancy related complications.

Dr. Orero was speaking to Miraya F.M. at the start of a month-long training workshop for Reproductive Health Care workers in Upper Nile State.

The training is organized by the Ministry of Health, GoSS, in collaboration with UNFPA and ARC.
