Sudan rejected the renewal of its Human Rights Rapporteur to the Human Rights Council, Sima Samar, opposite to the European Union's stand.

The Deputy Ambassador of Sudan's mission in Geneva, Omer Dahab, told Miraya FM that he does not expect a unanimous decision from the Human Rights Council on the renewal of Samar's Mandate.

Samar had previously mentioned in her latest report on Sudan, that the humanitarian situation is still grim, a statement which prompted a strong reaction from the Sudanese government.
