The international financial turmoil reached the Asian markets a day after the US markets have witnessed on Monday one of their worst days since years.
In the wake of the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers, the Dow Jones industrial average lost yesterday 504 points, marking the biggest point fall since the September 2001 attacks.
The US President George W. Bush said the administration will work to ease the impact of the financial crisis on the US economy, stressing his confidence in the country's economy to contain the crisis on the long run.
