The Spokesperson of the United Nations/African Union Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) Kemal Saiki has assured that the UNAMID force is working to improve the security situation in the IDP camps in Darfur.
Speaking to Miraya FM, Mr. Saiki declined to comment on the recent accusations made by Senior Presidential Assistant, Minni Minnawi saying that UNAMID has failed to protect civilians in Darfur.
Earlier, leader of Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SLM) Minni Arkou Minnwi told Miraya FM that (UNAMID) has failed to protect civilians in Darfur.
He added that UNAMID forces stand as ‘spectators' while the movement's locations and IDP camps are attacked by the armed forces, as he put it.
