Qazi congratulates Salva Kiir on progress in Abyei roadmap |

The special representative of the UN secretary general in Sudan Ashraf Qazi told the press in Juba on Thursday after meeting President Salva Kiir that they discussed progress and challenges facing the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, CPA.
Mr. Ashraf Qazi said he congratulated President Salva Kiir for the progress in the Abyei roadmap implementation.
He announced that in October this year Southern Sudan will host a DDR conference where international community is expected to make pledges towards support of the DDR program in the Sudan.
Ashraf Qazi is expected to visit Rumbek on Friday where UN DDR team was deployed earlier this week.
