The Minister of Foreign Affairs Deng Alor said that the Government is in a political crisis due to disagreements over cooperation with the International Criminal Court.
During his meeting with his Dutch counterpart Maxim Verhaven in Hague, Minister Alor said he is hoping that the two partners of the Government of National Unity, the National Congress Party and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement could reach an agreement over the issue.
Mr. Deng Alor added that such disagreements would not maintain the interests of Sudan at this time pointing out that the NCP continues to disallow any cooperation with the ICC, while contrarily the Minister said the SPLM sees the necessity of cooperating with the ICC.
In a related development, the Representative of the European Union in Sudan Torben Brylle and Union's Political Advisor Huda Saif will arrive in Darfur for a two day visit to evaluate the humanitarian needs.
Mr. Brylle will meet the Governor of Northern Darfur State Othman Kibir and the Head of UNAMID Rodolphe Adada.
