Machar urges Muslims in South to separate religion from state |

The New Sudan Islamic Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of gender, social welfare and religious affairs in the Government of Southern Sudan organized a three-day workshop in Juba aimed at organizing activities of Islamic societies in Southern Sudan.
Speaking at the opening of a three-day workshop, the Vice President of GoSS Dr. Riak Machar urged Muslim parties to separate the religion from the state issues, as stated in the 2005 Interim constitution of Southern Sudan.
The workshop attended by representatives of various Muslim parties and Southern Sudan government officials.
