The Press and Publications Council has suspended the publishing of English speaking Sudan Tribune and The Citizen newspapers, calling for the Editors-in-Chief of both papers to appear before the Council.
Muhi el Din Titawi, the head of Sudan Journalists Union told Miraya FM that the decision is related to administrative violations by the two papers.
For his part, the Editor-in-Chief of Sudan Tribune, William Ezekiel, condemned the decision of the Press and Publications Council, saying that it will not serve the issue of freedom of expression.
