UNAMID considered the government’s decision of allowing the mission to use civil airports in Darfur “a good step” that helps the deployment of the international forces in the region.
The spokesperson of the mission, Nuraddeen Almazini, told Miraya FM that this step will help the mission to do its job in the best way possible, pointing out to the governments obligation to guard the logistic convoys from Port Sudan to Darfur.
The government earlier allowed the UNAMID to use civil airports in Darfur to transport soldiers and logistics to facilitate their mission on the ground.
