The Governor of Central Equatoria State Maj. Gen. Clement Wani Konga has decreed Juba County flag to be raised in Mangala Payam instead of the flag of Terekeka County.
The decree came after holding a meeting of the Mundari and Bari communities to resolve the disputes over the ownership of the Payam on Tuesday.
Speaking during the meeting, Governor Konga said that Juba County flag should be raised in Mangala Payam until a technical border committee produces a final report and solution over the disputed Payam.
The Commander of the Joint Integrated Units (JIU) Major General Thomas Cirilo, has meanwhile, appealed to politicians "not to pollute the minds of ordinary people for their personal benefit."
The talks in Mangala aimed to settle ownership dispute over Mangala payam in Central Equatoria State, some 30 kilometers north of Juba town.
The Bari and Mundari clans of Central Equatoria State have been disputing over ownership of the Payam.
