Tree planting campaign throughout the country |

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Professor Zubair Bashir Taha, launched a tree planting campaign all over the country.
The announcement came prior to festivals of the National Tree Day which will be marked on the 15th of August in West Darfur State.
Speaking in the forum of Sudan News Agency (SUNA) Taha said that his Ministry imported 300 Tons of seeds and is planning to plant 70 million trees, pointing out the aim of this effort is to preserve the environment, combat desertification, poverty alleviation and support food security.
In Waw, in Western Bahr el-Ghazal State, United Nations Mission In Sudan (UNMIS) organized a wide tree planting campaign carried out by the UN employees and peacekeepers.
Fred Babi, Chief of the second sector in the mission said in an exclusive interview with Miraya FM that the aim of the campaign is to encourage citizens to preserve the environment.
