The Ministry of Transport and Roads in the Government of Southern Sudan terminated the contract of the Italian Civil Engineer Company (CEC) reconstructing roads in Juba and the Juba International Airport.
The undersecretary at the Ministry Dr. Daniel Wani told Miraya FM that the Italian company "has failed to deliver the expectations of the government".
Dr. Wani said that the government of southern Sudan also decided to curtail the number of kilometers of roads that the CEC Company is being asphalting in Juba from over sixty (60) to thirty (30) kilometers.
He added that four companies are now competing for the Juba International Airport bid and the replacement for the CEC Company will be confirmed within three weeks.
A team from the Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly is expected to inspect the works done so far by the CEC international company.
The manager of the CEC was not available for an immediate comment.
