Friday, 11 July 2008
The government has announced that it will negotiate with the Justice and Equality Movement led by Khalil Ibrahim if the movement abandons weapons and apologizes for the Sudanese people, as the spokesman of the foreign ministry Ali Al-Sadig said. Meanwhile, Daud Bollad, the spokesman of the Sudan Liberation Movement SLM- Abdul-Wahid Mohammed Nour's faction, requested full deployment of the United Nations-African Union joint forces in Darfur before negotiating with the government.

Meanwhile, the United Resistance Front stressed the importance of including the Lybian, Chadian and United Nations-African Union initiatives in the negotiation process.
