Top figures in the Sudan Liberation Movement-Minnawi's Faction denied that Minnawi traveled to Chad and met with President Idriss Deby. Speaking to Miraya FM, the Spokesman of the movement, Al-Tayeb Khamis, affirmed that Minnawi is now in Abo Gamra area in North Darfur State.

He revealed that Minnawi will visit Labado area in south Darfur before coming back to Khartoum five days from today.

Al-Tayeb Khamis pointed out that such speculations aim to damage the movement's image, as he put it.

Al-Sahafa newspaper said today that Senior Assistant to the President, chairman of Minnawi's faction left for N'djamena and met with President Idris Debbi without the presidency's knowledge.

Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deng Alor concluded a European tour where he met with senior officials in some countries including the French counterpart, Bernard Kouchner.

France proposed to mediate between Sudan and Chad after the diplomatic ties between the two countries were broken off.
