Chad's ruling party organizes march in support of Deby PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 22 June 2008

About ten thousand supporters of the ruling party in Chad organized a march in support of President Idriss Deby and in celebration of-what they called-victory over the rebels.

Addressing the crowd, President Deby said that the security situation is under the control of the government forces.

He said that Chad welcome the return of any Chadian to the country post rebellion but that must come through one channel which is Sirte agreement signed last October in Libya.

On Saturday, the Chadian rebels expressed keenness to start a dialogue with the government after heavy fighting between both parties in east Chad last week.
