The Ugandan Army said that the Lord’s Resistance Army rebels (LRA) have clashed with the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) for the second time this month.
Speaking to Reuters News Agency, the Spokesperson of the Ugandan Army, Chris Magezi, said that one LRA fighter was killed and three others were captured. The Ugandan Army said that the clashes occurred after the LRA raided Nimule town, a major trade route between Uganda and south Sudan in the Eastern Equatoria State. Earlier this month the LRA attacked a town in southern Sudan bordering the DR Congo killing SPLA soldiers and civilians.
