The Popular Congress Party rejected the statement of President Omer Al-Bashir that the Justice and Equality Movement is a military wing of the Popular Party.

President Al-Bashir also accused the Popular Congress Party which is being led by Dr. Hassan Abdallah Turabi of attempting to oust the government.

A leading member in the Popular Congress Party, Mohammed Al-Amin Khalifa, told Miraya FM that his party will not keep silent on such statements.

Mr. Khalifa said that the government is attempting to impede the activities of the Popular Congress Party.

He said that if President Bashir has proofs in what he is saying, should take it to the court.

President Al-Bashir earlier accused the Popular Congress Party led by Dr. Turabi of attempting to overthrow the government through any possible means.

Al-Bashir added that some elements of the Popular Congress Party participated in the Omdurman incident.
