NCP & SPLM close to resolve Abyei crisis |

The Joint Political Committee between the National Congress Party and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement has decided to extend its meetings to today in Khartoum.
The task force which is set up to resolve the Abyei crisis had a meeting in Juba on Friday.Speaking to Miraya FM, the Minister of Presidential Affairs in the Government of Southern Sudan, Dr. Luka Biong, revealed that a final agreement will be declared after the presidency meeting in Khartoum tomorrow.
He explained that the committee has informed First Vice President, President of the Government of Southern Sudan, Let. Gen. Salva Kirr Mayardit, on Juba’s meeting.
He affirmed that the committee could find solutions to most of the outstanding issues on Abyei, but refused to reveal those solutions. Earlier, the Spokesman of the National Congress Party in the committee, Al-Dirdiri Mohammed Ahmed, told Miraya FM that they were close to reach a final agreement on Abyei.
