The US special envoy to Sudan, Richard Williamson, said on Tuesday that Washington is suspending its current talks with Sudan due to the failure of finding a solution on the Abyei crisis by both the northerners and southerners
Mr. Williamson said that the failure to resolve the Abyei crisis is a threat to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement signed in 2005. He added that the suspension of the Sudanese/US talks came because the leadership of both sides on the Abyei crisis is not serious with peace.
