The Minister of Presidential Affairs in the Government of Southern Sudan, Dr. Luka Biong, expects the partners to the Naivasha agreement to end their remaining disagreements on Abyei today after they agreed on establishing a joint administration there. Speaking to Miraya FM, he said that the Abyei administration includes a chairman from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement and a deputy chairman from the National Congress Party. He added that the presidency will name the chairman and his deputy after its meeting tomorrow. The Sudanese-American talks resume today in Khartoum. However, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement boycotts the talks in protest against Abyei events. The Sudanese delegation is headed by Assistant to the President, Dr. Nafi Ali Nafi, while the American delegation is headed by President’s Envoy to Sudan, Richard Williamson.
