Legal defense team accuses Mauritanian government of neglecting judiciary system PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 30 May 2008
The Mauritanian former fighter’s legal defense team has accused the authorities of obstruction of the Judiciary system and neglecting its decisions.

The defense team has furthermore accused the government of torturing and mistreating the detainees.

This file is considered the most sensitive for the Mauritanian Judiciary taking into account the number of the accused persons and the charges facing them.

The file is made more serious by the fact that it was preceded by many armed clashes which killed and injured a lot of people.

However, the Mauritanian authorities say that some of the accused were behind the clashes.
