Police has released 481 suspects who were detained in connection to the attack of the Justice and Equality Movement on Omdurman last month.
Police Commissioner Lt. Gen Mohammed Najib told the press that some of the suspects confessed to involvement in the incident, adding that those who are on the run will be pursued.
On the other hand, the Justice and Equality Movement condemned what it called the 'random arrests' of Darfurians in Khartoum.
JEM’s Secretary for External Affairs, Abdul Hamid Haroun, told Miraya FM that the arrests mount to crimes against humanity.
The Senior Assistant to the President and Chairman of the Sudan Liberation Movement Minni Arkua Minanwi, had issued earlier a decree establishing legal and media committees for the protection of the innocent and the affected by the Omdurman events.
