The Israeli Parliament has endorsed a new act aiming to curb illegal entry to Israel.
The act imposes imprisonment up to seven years for every infiltrator coming from the Darfur region. According to the new act, the Israeli authorities will be allowed to detain any illegal infiltrator or immigrant for a period of eighteen days without facing trial. The act also approved what it calls ‘hot expulsion’ after seventy two hours following the arrest of an illegal immigrant or person trying to enter Israel illegally.
