The Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) Second National Convention concluded in Juba on Wednesday with 22 recommendations adopted.
Addressing the closing session, the Chairman of the SPLM, Salva Kiir Mayardit, said that the movement is transformed within a short period of time into a democratic political party.
Mr. Kiir emphasized that he will exert more efforts on the SPLM in order for it to progress.
However, the elections of the three deputies of the SPLM Chairman and Secretary General by the Interim National Council have been postponed to the coming few days.
However, the Second SPLM National Convention earlier unanimously elected Salva Kiir Mayardit as the Chairman of the party for the next five years.
The convention also elected members of the SPLM Liberation Council which is composed of 275 members.
Speaking to delegates after he was sworn in, the Chairman of the SPLM, Salva Kiir Mayardit, urged the Movement to work for making unity attractive for all Sudanese.
Mr. Kiir reiterated that he will ensure that the Comprehensive Peace Agreement is implemented to the expectation of the people of Sudan and not to go back to war.
Kiir added that he is the leader of the marginalized people of the Sudan.
